To further embed sustainability into our operations, we have taken up Kaukokiito’s BIO service for our transport needs in Finland from the beginning of the year. Thanks to this initiative, driven by Nordkalk’s sales and logistics teams, we are taking a step towards reducing the carbon footprint of our product transportation in the country. A significant number of the transportation of our packaged products is done by Kaukokiito, and now by using their BIO service.
Kaukokiito’s BIO service, utilizing renewable diesel made from 100% waste and residues, aligns with Nordkalk’s environmental objectives. The renewable diesel offers a clean-burning, cold-resistant solution suitable for the demanding climate of the north, ensuring that our transportation processes remain efficient and environmentally friendly.
This initiative is part of Nordkalk’s broader strategy to enhance sustainability across its operations, following our roadmap to fossil-free operations by 2040 one step at the time.
