The Norwegian company NorFraKalk AS, which is owned in half by Nordkalk Corporation and Franzefoss Minerals AS, built a lime kiln in Verdal in 2007. Nordkalk is also a part-owner of Verdalskalk AS. The quarry in Verdal contains high quality limestone which is excellent as raw material for paper pigment PCC.
