The stormy weather did not scare the people in Lappeenranta in Finland last Saturday when Nordkalk together with the other companies - Astepa, Finnsementti and Suomen Karbonaatti - in the Ihalainen industrial area offered tours to the industrial area. About 500 people used the opportunity and came to learn why limestone is so essential.
The buses filled up and people liked the opportunity to visit the area and especially to see Nordkalk's quarry.

Nordkalk's own personnel acted as guides on the tours.

Leevi, Simo and Elina Rounela found white limestone to take home with them as well as safety vests donated to every visitor by the companies of the Ihalainen area.

Ossi Honkatukia was interested in limestone. Who better to tell all about it than geologist Markku Lehtinen.
