Find out latest news from Nordkalk
Nordkalk has today received information about charges concerning the accident that took place at the Luleå plant on 1 November 2011. We will now go through the charges, and prepare our statement to the court and afterwards at the trial. Until question of liability is settled, we cannot comment on the accident further.
However, we deeply regret the accident and the consequences it had for all those involved and their families. We take very seriously on what happened and have put a lot of time and effort internally to investigate the cause and take steps to prevent a similar accident from happening again. It is unfortunate for all concerned that the inquiry has taken so long. We now hope that the liability issue can be settled once and for all, to make it easier for everyone to move on.
Nordkalk has for several years had a major focus on Health & Safety within the company. Our work environment is certified according to OHSAS 18001. Health & Safety issues are highest on the agenda throughout the company, in the Management team, in cooperation with entrepreneurs, trade unions and healthcare. We have a vision for zero accidents and clearly stated not to sacrifice safety.
