The lights will be switched off for an hour on Saturday 19 March at 8.30 pm. As some of the production plants are running around the clock, all the lights cannot be off for occupational H&S reasons.
The lights off event is a symbolic sign for the climate and also a celebration of the planet earth. The event started in Australia in 2007.
Nordkalk switched the lights off for the first time in 2014 at several of its plants.
