We treat all people according to our values, which apply in the whole Rettig Group: we believe in openness and fairness, and trust and respect are the most fundamental elements of our interaction and communication with different stakeholders. The fourth value, modesty, is the principle applied in listening to and understanding divergent views and opinions.
Nordkalk complies with local and international laws and regulations, such as international labor standards defined by ILO and UN Global Compact covering human rights, labor, the environment and anticorruption. Life evolved around the company
“If one employed somebody, one’s duty was to take care of him” , This was the principle applied by Emil Sarlin, Managing Director of Pargas Kalkbergs Aktiebolaget in 1905-55.
In the first half of the 20th century, life in Pargas evolved around the company. It build roads, houses, and sports places; maintained schools, supported a hospital and social activities. The social facilities built in 1933 for the employees included a barn, a bathhouse, washing room, bakery, library and a handicraft room, among other things.
Nordkalk is the leading limestone company on its home markets. We deliver essential raw materials to numerous industries, and our solutions contribute to clean air and water as well as productivity of agricultural land.
