Find out latest news from Nordkalk
On 14 October 2013 Nordkalk Germany celebrates its 10th anniversary as a legal unit.
In 2000 Nordkalk decided to open a sales office in Germany as subsidiary company of the Swedish Nordkalk AB. The office was established by Jan Weber who was also the Managing Director of the company located in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
The focus in the beginning was the sales of limestone from Nordkalk´s Miedzianka quarry in Poland by train to the steel industry and for the flue gas desulphurization process in coal-fired power stations.
Further investments of Nordkalk like the grinding unit in Szczecin, which is close to the German border, opened new opportunities to offer more products to North and Eastern Germany.
Soon additional sales activities in the agricultural sector, sugar industry and the chemical industry had been reached. Customers could be served by our production plants in Kurevere, Estonia and Storugns in Gotland, Sweden. Based on the logistical excellent locations of these production units the transport by vessel could be realized.
Due to the positive development in Germany Nordkalk Corporation decided in 2003 to keep the German location and thus to approve the change of the company name into a legal independent German company - the Nordkalk GmbH.
Since 2010 Malte König is the Managing Director of the company which has 4 employees.
We wish to thank our customers and other partners for a good co-operation.
