The Prize of Nordkalk’s Spring Campaign Went to the Right Place

Hannu Heinonen from Rymättylä won a Sauna-Seppo filter in Nordkalk´s gardening lime campaign.

Spring and summer are ideal times for gardening. Nordkalk ran an online gardening lime campaign for consumers in spring 2009. Over 1500 people around Finland took part in a competition that was a part of the campaign. Prizes were Fiskar's gardening aprons and Nordkalk Sauna-Seppo, a filter for cleaning summer houses' grey waters.

The winner of Sauna-Seppo filter is Hannu Heinonen from Rymättylä. He received the prize on 18 May 2009. Jan Drugge and Tiina Roine from Nordkalk paid him a visit in Rymättylä and handed over the prize together with instructions on how to use the filter.

The prize clearly went to the right address as Mr. Heinonen had already been thinking about and looking for a right kind of a method for taking care of the gray waters at his summer cottages. He has two old saunas, the water treatment of which needs to be updated to better agree with the law on cleaning of grey waters coming into effect in 2014.

Heinonen stumbled over Nordkalk's campaign on the internet, and when he saw that the prize is Sauna-Seppo filter, which he already had read about on the company's web pages, he decided to take part in the competition. "Who knows, perhaps I will be lucky this time", thought Mr. Heinonen.

Mr. Heinonen limes his garden regularly so the bagful of lime Nordkalk also donated to him came as a pleasant surprise.

Sauna-Seppo is a simple and user-friendly filter that cleans washing waters through Nordkalk FiltraP filter material with the help of gravity. It is suited for saunas and summer cottages with no water distribution system i.e. the amount of water used is small. Sauna-Seppo can be used also on rocky grounds and near watercourse. Nordkalk FiltraP filter material removes phosphor and bacteria from the water - the cleansed water can be released into the nature. The filter material is to be added into the filter in spring and the filter is to be emptied in autumn before frost.
