Choosing the right lime product - be it various grades of limestone, quicklime or slaked lime used as pH regulating chemicals - has a significant impact on how well the target metal composition can be reached. The use of a proper lime product ensures easy process control, which helps to match the target quality - and maintain low processing costs.

Waste waters as well as refinery sludges are cleaned using the same methods as in the mining industry. Water pH level and alkalinity of the cleaning processes are controlled using various lime products. Tailings are treated with different lime products, according to their properties.

Lime is by far the best natural raw material for regulating the pH of waste water and sludge.
